Aluminium shim that can be manipulated into shape very easily by hand.
We stocked this product many years ago but we discontinued it as sales were slow. We thought it was a real shame at the time as it’s an ingenious product, can be endlessly reused, lightweight and inherently flame retardant.
We were convinced that it was worth re-introduction following a visit to Nottingham Playhouse. Their production of “The Children” used Alushape to great effect for a cliff face at the front of the stage, with texture added by paper based Dekozell. Conventional wisdom would have been to carve and overcoat the cliff face from polystyrene blocks, generating lots of waste material.
Alushape DIY has adhesive backing on one side only for sticking directly on to surfaces or laminating with a material of your choice..
Also available as bare, uncoated aluminium (PROASBRT) or laminated with canvas (PROASCRE).
Due to it's nature, cut lengths will have some level of crumpling and fold lines. Purchasing a full roll (10 metres) will minimise handling.
